Head of Department Mr. Diarmuid MacCarthy The Department of Food Engineering provides a four year BE degree in Food Process Engineering and undertakes research in the areas of Process Control and Automation in the food manufacturing sector (including Process Monitoring, Dynamic Analysis and Systems Optimisation), Biological Engineering, Engineering Properties of Foods, Modelling of Food Engineering Systems and Advanced Manufacturing Technology (AMT) in food.
